Elevating your home doesn't require a full renovation; it's about intentional upgrades like lighting, hardware, and styling. Key strategies include maximizing natural light, adding rich textures, using large-scale art, and decluttering for a polished, cohesive look.

Most luxury interiors rely on a few consistent design principles rather than oversized budgets. One of the biggest differences between average and elevated homes is visual calm.  A home looks “rich” and aesthetically pleasing when it feels intentional, layered, and calm not necessarily expensive.

Simple updates, such as replacing door knobs and adding greenery, make a massive impact.  Below are some additional ways you can elevate your home.

1. Upgrade Your Lighting: Replace basic fixtures with unique pendants, chandeliers, or sculptural sconces. Layer Lighting: Combine ambient, task, and accent lighting for depth and a refined mood. Install Dimmers: Add dimmer switches to transition rooms from bright and energetic to soft and intimate.

2. Focus on Details and Hardware: Change Door Knobs & Hinges. Replace basic doorknobs with modern levers or stylish knobs for a heavier, higher-end feel. Update Faucets: Swap out old kitchen and bathroom faucets for modern, high-arc models. Refresh Hardware: Change out cabinet knobs and pulls in the kitchen and bathroom.

3. Elevate with Textiles and Styling: Go High and Wide with curtains. Hang curtains as close to the ceiling as possible and extend them wider than the window frame to make rooms feel larger and more luxurious. Layer Textures: Use tactile materials like nubby throw blankets, velvet pillows, and woven baskets to add warmth and dimension. Create Vignettes: Style surfaces like coffee tables and consoles with a mix of old and new items—think trays, candles, and stacked books.

4. Paint and Walls: Install picture frame or custom molding to give architectural character to boring walls and create a focal point.  Paint interior doors black or dark gray for a dramatic, chic contrast.

5. Enhance Curb Appeal: Update Exterior Hardware. Replace old house numbers, mailboxes, and door handles. Bring the Outdoors In: Add planters with greenery or fresh flowers in the entryway to create a welcoming atmosphere.

6. Curate Your Furniture Mix, Buy pieces that complement each other instead of items that perfectly match. Avoid buying full bedroom or living room sets. Mix different textures and styles to create a unique, curated, and high-end atmosphere.

7. Add a Statement Piece: Choose one bold, interesting item in each room to serve as a focal point, such as a unique chair, piece of art, or coffee table.

By focusing on these thoughtful upgrades, you can transform your home into a more sophisticated and comfortable space.
